This playful attempt at an animation-based visual/music experience is the very beginning. This particular etude of only 13.30 sec. is the first of many that will evolve between us over time. We have no idea what the final form our collaboration will take. This example is based on a very short excerpt based on a 1982 composition by Stephen Dembski entitled “Digit” from his album “Stephen Dembski.”
The visual imagery is derived from my painting “Red-Blue Shift #1.” The original music and painting has been altered through “Photosounder,” a software program that interprets color and sound along a series of frequencies controlled by the user. The animation is produced through “Kinemac,” a real-time based animation software.
